Create a three-page booklet that represents the haiku "Bird perched on wire— feathers scarlet as fire— sings bright melody" in an abstract way.

Chosen Direction
I chose to continue with the second direction and experimented with layout and color.
Final Booklet
A monochromatic look worked the best, and after print-testing, I adjusted the colors to look good on screens and in print. I struggled to create a cover that felt cohesive with the rest of the pages. I realized I wasn't taking enough from the letterforms, so I added an element from the first letter of each line of the poem on the cover.
